How many porta potties does a festival need?
A festival of 1,000 guests over 6 hours needs about 12 standard porta potties on Craig Rental Works' planning chart, plus 3 more if beer is sold. Split them into clusters near the entrance, food and stage. Each cluster needs at least 1 wheelchair-accessible unit under ADA section 213.2.
Multi-day events need a service visit every night. Units that hit their limit mid-day are the number one complaint at large events.
| Attendance | 4 hours | 6 hours | 8 hours | Accessible (min.) | Handwash |

Call (717) 210-4414How should porta potties be arranged at a festival?
Arrange festival porta potties in clusters of 6 to 12 units, with doors facing a wide aisle and an accessible unit at the end nearest the path. Put clusters near the entrance, the food court and the main stage. Leave a 12-foot service lane so our truck can pump units during the event.
Lighting matters for evening events. Place clusters under existing lights or add a light tower.

What about mud sales and fire company events?
Lancaster County mud sales and fire company auctions draw thousands of people onto wet fields in early spring. Plan clusters on the firmest ground near the food stands, add extra handwashing stations, and book 6 to 8 weeks ahead. Our trucks need a gravel or frozen lane to pump units mid-day.
Spring sales run on many Saturdays between February and April. Units can stay on site Friday to Monday.
Long events need more units than people expect. 500 guests over 9 hours needs about 9 units on our chart, not 3. Always size by hours and alcohol, not head count alone.
Festival & fair porta potties FAQs
Do you provide a site map for the units?
Yes. Send us your event map and we will mark cluster spots, the service lane and accessible units.
Can you service units during the event?
Yes. For multi-day events we pump and restock overnight, and can pump mid-day if a lane is open.
Do nonprofits get a discount?
Tax-exempt groups pay no sales tax with a certificate. Ask about volume pricing for 10+ units.
How early do units arrive?
Usually 1 to 2 days before gates open, and pickup is the next business day after the event.
Can you supply light towers or fencing?
We focus on restrooms and handwashing. We can recommend local suppliers for fencing and lighting.
